"Hutto Approves Over 1,000 Rental Units"

The Hutto City Council has approved a development agreement with HL Capital Partners for Olander Farms, a 100-acre mixed-use project. This expansive project will feature multifamily and build-to-rent units, as well as supporting commercial developments.

Within the 61 acres designated for multifamily use, there are four parcels planned. One parcel will accommodate 222 build-to-rent homes while another will have between 360 to 650 apartments. The third parcel is set aside for the construction of 122 townhomes available for sale and the fourth parcel can hold up to an additional160 apartments.

In addition to these residential offerings, Olander Farms also includes three commercial lots totaling approximately12 acres. Of note is one lot spanning six acres that can support up to60,000 square feet of commercial space.

According to reports from the Austin Business Journal,Hutto’s population has more than doubled since2010 when it was at14,698 residents,to its current estimated number of36,655 in July2022 accordingto data fromthe U.S.Census Bureau.This rapid growth trend is largely attributedtothe county’s thriving industrial sector which includes Samsung’s massive semiconductor factory currently under construction in nearby Taylor.
