Akal Development is set to establish a 200,000 square-foot venture near the town of Lancaster, creating 300 job opportunities. The logistics company will commence construction on the project in June with an estimated cost of $18 million and expects completion by March 2025.
According to reports from the Dallas Business Journal, this development has a capacity for five tenants and comprises two buildings – one spanning over 122,000 square feet and another covering an area of 77,000 square feet. Akal plans to relocate its ocean freight business to the smaller facility while leasing out remaining space. The company aims for three tenants in the larger building.
A.J. Thiara from Akal expresses enthusiasm about this location stating that it is strategically situated just south of Dallas with easy access off Interstate-45 amidst ongoing developments in that area making it an ideal logistic hub. Additionally, trucking coming from Port Houston can avoid city traffic by utilizing this location outside Dallas city limits.
