Chase to Open 15 New Banking Centers in Texas, PNC Bank Plans Expansion in Houston Market
In a surprising move, Chase has announced plans to open up to 15 new banking centers in Texas. Meanwhile, PNC Bank is set to add an additional 15 locations in the Houston market alone.
This expansion plan includes a significant investment of approximately $1 billion towards opening over 100 new locations and renovating more than 1,200 existing ones by the end of 2028. The bank will be targeting key markets such as Austin, North Texas, San Antonio, Denver and Miami for this growth strategy. Currently boasting about nationwide brick-and-mortar presence with over2 ,300 locations.
According to reports from the Houston Business Journal , this expansion comes after multiple branch closures or consolidations across various markets due largely due online banking trends within the past year. In fact,in2013,PNC closed down more than200 branches across its footprint.However,theHoustonmarket has been spared from these closures so far.
