A vacant office site in the Ahwatukee neighborhood may soon be transformed into a bustling technology and data center. Menlo Equities has proposed a one-million-square-foot project on approximately 40 acres of land at the intersection of Thistle Landing Drive and 50th St. This development will replace four single-story office buildings, built in 1998 but now mostly unoccupied, with state-of-the-art facilities.
In contrast to traditional data centers, East Thistle Data Center will offer a diverse range of amenities including research and development offices as well as storage for businesses located on the campus. According to documents submitted to the city of Phoenix, Menlo Equities plans to convert this former office park into a cutting-edge tech hub that meets modern business needs.
This transformation is part of Menlo’s larger vision for growth and innovation in Phoenix’s thriving business community. The company acquired the entire Thistle campus through two transactions totaling $52.75 million back in 2015.
