Brookfield Properties (BXP) and Rudin have announced that Pratt Institute will be relocating its graduate facilities for Fine Arts and Photography to Dock 72, a 675,000-square-foot workplace located at Brooklyn Navy Yard. The new space, occupying the entire third floor with a total of 62,570 square feet, is expected to be completed and occupied by fall term in August of 2024. This state-of-the-art facility will feature individual artist studios, seminar rooms for critiques and discussions, gallery spaces for showcasing student work ,a computer lab equipped with the latest technology , fabrication shops,and a versatile black box theater designed specifically for performances and projections.
According to Frances Bronet,president of Pratt Institute,”Expanding our presence in the Brooklyn Navy Yard allows our graduate students in Fine Arts and Photography access to top-notch studios as well as an inspiring community filled with diverse creatives.” With this exciting development,the post-graduate program at Pratt Institute is set up for success at their new location without any mention of “Connect” or “Connect CRE” or “Connect LA”.
