Bellwether Housing and the Evergreen Impact Housing Fund (EIHF) have officially opened The Aries at Bitter Lake, a new 200-unit affordable apartment complex in North Seattle. This project marks the first successful collaboration between public and private sectors to address Washington State’s affordable housing crisis.
Managed by Kris Hermanns of EIHF for the Seattle Foundation, The Aries is a testament to the power of partnership in creating positive change. With an allocation of bond cap and low-income housing tax credits from Washington State Housing Finance Commission, along with EIHF’s private capital investment, this development showcases how businesses can make transformative investments in affordable housing.
Located at 916 N 143rd Street, The Aries offers two- and three-bedroom apartments designed by Bellwether Housing CEO Susan Boyd. Its opening adds much-needed inventory to North Seattle’s rental market while providing sustainable solutions for low-income families.
