German-based pharmaceutical and life science manufacturer, Gerresheimer, is set to invest over $88 million in expanding its manufacturing operations in Peachtree City. This expansion will bring about 200 new jobs to Fayette County.
Gerresheimer offers a wide range of solutions for the pharmaceutical industry including containment solutions, drug delivery systems, and medical devices. They also cater to the health and cosmetics industries. Currently employing over 260 people in Peachtree City alone, Gerresheimer’s existing manufacturing facility is already undergoing an expansion that will create an additional 180 jobs by April 2024.
The new facility will be situated at Southpark International Industrial Park in Peachtree City and focus on producing medical devices such as autoinjectors for administering injectable drugs. Operations are expected to commence by fall of 2024.
Georgia has been leading the nation with a growth rate of 20% since 2015 when it comes to employment opportunities within the life sciences sector. The state currently supports more than78,000 jobs within this industry with approximately4000 organizations operating here.
