Data centers may not be major job creators, but they still contribute significant property tax dollars to a region’s economic development. In Georgia, data centers receive generous sales and equipment tax breaks, making them an attractive target for economic authorities.
DC Blox is set to develop a 750,000-square-foot data center campus in Rockdale County. The company has acquired 72 acres of land in Conyers for the project which is located about 24 miles east of Downtown Atlanta. With plans for three buildings on the site and a commitment from Georgia Power to provide 216 megawatts of power, DC Blox aims to meet the growing demand for data storage.
The first phase of construction will be anchored by a hyperscale client although their identity remains undisclosed at this time. This latest development by DC Blox marks another milestone in their expansion as they continue to establish themselves as leaders in the industry.
