BioMed Realty has acquired 330 3rd Street, the existing Gas Transfer Station (GTS) site in Cambridge, from Eversource. This acquisition will enable BioMed Realty to develop its 585 Kendall project on the entire city block. The 16-story lab/office building with an arts and culture component will feature seasonal, family-friendly lifestyle activities such as dining options, outdoor concerts, a canoe and kayak launch area for public use along with art installations and a farmer’s market. Additionally there will be a winter market as well as community ice skating rink available for all to enjoy.

Iram Farooq , assistant city manager of Cambridge expressed his enthusiasm about this new development stating “This makes possible an exciting future at 585 3rd Street which advances our STEAM goals by bringing together science & art while also inviting local residents to participate.”
