In the past, NBA teams would practice at local YMCA or JCC facilities. However, with the new and improved training centers now available to them, it’s a thing of the past. Take for example the Houston Rockets.
Their state-of-the-art 75,000-square-foot practice facility is set to open next summer and will be named Memorial Hermann Houston Rockets Training Center. With an estimated cost of $70 million, this facility will be three times larger than their current one at Toyota Center downtown.
The training center boasts two full-sized courts with five total hoops for players to utilize during practices. The locker room features walk-in closets and other player amenities such as a lounge area, dining space and steam room are conveniently located nearby. Additionally, the outdoor training area as well as treatment rooms,m edical exam rooms, and recovery areas make this facility top-notch in terms of player care.
This impressive development by the Houston Rockets showcases their commitment towards providing their team with world-class facilities that enhance performance on court.
