Merritt Planning San Antonio Residence Inn - A Guide to Planning Your Stay

The hospitality industry is making a strong comeback amidst the ongoing Covid pandemic. A new project by Merritt Development Group and Peachtree Group in San Antonio is set to add to this recovery. The two companies are collaborating on a ten-story Residence Inn by Marriott at 100 N. Main Ave., which will offer 171 rooms, along with amenities such as a rooftop pool and terrace, fitness center, meeting rooms, and panaderia (Mexican bakery). With an estimated cost of $58 million for construction, Peachtree will serve as the owner-operator.

In October last year, Peachtree Group acquired the property where the hotel will be built. This parcel has been in discussion for various hotel plans over the years but was finally secured by REM in 2016 with intentions of constructing an 18-story mixed-use building under Choice Hotels’ Cambria brand.

There is no specific timeline announced yet for construction to begin; however BGKT Architects from Memphis have been chosen to design this new addition to San Antonio’s hospitality scene.
