“Seattle Welcomes New Tenant to Former Amazon Go Space”

"Seattle Welcomes New Tenant to Former Amazon Go Space"

In a recent announcement, Amazon revealed the closure of several Seattle-area Amazon Go stores. However, one location is set to welcome a new tenant soon. According to reports from the Puget Sound Business Journal, Madison Street Market & Deli will be occupying the 3,800-square-foot space on Fifth Avenue and Marion Street.

The market and deli will offer an array of products such as breads and baked goods, local beer, and organic groceries. The space is located in Madison Centre – a 37-story office tower developed by Schnitzer West and Barings LLC in 2017. In May of 2022,Boston Properties Inc.(BXP) acquired the building for $730 million.

Previously occupied by Amazon’s Go store since its opening in 2018 (Seattle’s second location at that time), this prime retail space has now found its new occupant with Madison Street Market & Deli moving in soon. This decision comes after Amazon closed eight Go stores earlier this year – including two locations in Seattle- citing periodic assessments of their portfolio for optimization purposes.
