Wolfe Investments plans to invest more than $33 million in converting office space in Dallas into apartments, with the possibility of adding hotel rooms as well. According to a spokesperson for Wolfe, including kitchens and laundry facilities in the units could be an attractive amenity for potential hotel guests.
The project will involve transforming the blue building at 211 N. Ervay St. into 238 individual units, with construction set to begin in March and expected to take approximately one year. Demolition has already begun on the project, which will be designed by HKS and built by Andres Construction.
Despite ongoing construction, retail tenants such as restaurants may eventually join the existing 7-Eleven store on the ground level that will remain open during renovations.
Originally designed by Thomas Stanley and developed by Leo Corrigan in 1958, this office building has been vacant since 1995 but was reopened as offices after undergoing extensive renovations totaling millions of dollars back in 2014.
