A new development is set to rise in downtown Phoenix, consisting of two eight-story buildings. One building will be a multifamily community while the other will serve as a hotel. According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Berry Holdings is the owner and Ayers Saint Gross is the project design firm for this Eastlake Park Mixed-Use proposal.
The proposed plan includes ground floor restaurants and retail spaces in both buildings, along with a six-level parking garage on the west side of the property. The site’s current structures will be demolished except for one that has been designated as historic and preserved under an overlay district.
To make way for this mid-rise development, Berry Holdings needs to acquire rezoning approval before proceeding with construction. This change in zoning was deemed appropriate by city staff due to its location just one block away from a light rail station.
In summary, downtown Phoenix can look forward to new apartment and hotel units being added soon near Washington and Jefferson avenues thanks to this upcoming mixed-use development led by Berry Holdings.
