According to RCLCO Real Estate Consulting, Austin, Denver, Seattle, Raleigh and Washington DC are the top markets for STEM job growth momentum. For two consecutive years, Austin has held the first rank while San Jose leads in current concentration of STEM employment.
The 2023 STEM Job Growth Index (STEMdex) by RCLCO projects which metropolitan areas will experience the most significant growth in STEM jobs based on 25 indicators. Published annually since 2016, this index tracks and forecasts trends in STEM job growth across major metro areas.
Managing Director of RCLCO Gregg Logan states that “STEM jobs are characterized by a highly educated workforce and offer some of the highest paying and most economically productive opportunities.” The seventh edition of their annual publication aims to highlight markets with strong levels of industry employment as well as those expected to see robust future growth.
