"Seattle Art School Relocating to Ground-Floor Space at Amazon HQ"

Seattle’s Gage Academy of Art, a well-established school in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, is preparing to relocate to a new location within an Amazon-owned building. The nonprofit institution will benefit from financial support from the e-commerce giant as it moves into a modern and fully-equipped facility at the base of one of Amazon’s headquarters towers in 2024.

According to reports by the Seattle Times, Amazon has committed over $7.5 million in rent assistance for Gage over the next decade and will also cover a significant portion of construction and space improvement costs.

Currently situated near St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle’s St. Nicholas building, Gage Academy will make its move next summer as it becomes the first tenant occupying 14,000 square feet on ground-floor level within Amazon’s “re: Invent” building – which boasts 37 stories.
