Publix, a well-known grocer based in Lakeland, Florida, has recently expanded into the Greater Cincinnati market. The company has signed a lease for its sixth store in Kentucky and plans to open it at the Triple Crown Shopping Center on Triple Crown Boulevard and Richwood Road. This new location will feature a 55,701-square-foot supermarket as well as an adjacent Publix Liquors offering beer, wine and spirits. The store is set to open its doors in 2025.
This expansion is part of Publix’s ongoing growth strategy in the region. In fact, just last year they broke ground on their first Kentucky location and announced plans for their fourth store in the state. With this move into Greater Cincinnati comes direct competition with Kroger – another major player that was founded right here.
