The Scottsdale City Planning Commission unanimously supports a development plan and zoning district map amendment for the former CrackerJax amusement park site. This will pave the way for “The Parque,” a mixed-use development proposed by billionaire George Kurtz, co-founder and CEO of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike. The Phoenix Business Journal reports that plans include a five-star hotel, multifamily residences, retail and restaurant space, office buildings, and an open gathering area called the “Central Parque.”
Specific details for The Parque consist of 223 luxury hotel rooms; 126 condominium units under a hotel brand; 897 multifamily residences; workforce housing with 98 units; new office space totaling at least 100,000 square feet; over 25,000 square feet dedicated to retail shops; as well as nearly35 ,000 square feet designated for restaurants. The project will comprise of twelve buildings ranging from one to ten stories in height.
This potential transformation has gained support from city officials thus far with hopes that Scottsdale City Council will approve it soon.
