"Revitalized: Century-Old Charlotte Mill Transformed into a Mixed-Use Project"

A historic textile mill in Charlotte has been revitalized and is now available for occupancy. The Savona Mill, which underwent a $70 million renovation led by Portman Holdings, offers 180,000 square feet of office space and 20,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor. In addition to multiple open-air patios and a rooftop deck, the property also features a spacious area for hosting music events and community gatherings.

The redevelopment project began in February 2022 with an emphasis on preserving the mill’s original character. Exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, fresh paint on ceilings and columns, and large windows that allow natural light to flood into the space create an inviting atmosphere.

According to reports from Charlotte Business Journal, the ground floor will primarily house food-and-beverage retailers while office users can lease one of three available floors with approximately 50,o00 square feet each. This mixed-use project marks another milestone in Charlotte’s rich history as it continues to evolve into a thriving city destination.
