In October, the most sought-after rental location in the Northeast was Queens, NY according to RentCafe’s monthly Rental Activity Report. This surpassed popular cities like Arlington, VA and Kansas City, MO. Queens experienced a significant 72% decrease in available listings compared to last year and saw a nearly tripled increase in listing views. Additionally, renters added 127% more properties to their favorites and saved 19% more personalized searches year-over-year.
The Bronx also remained a top destination for renters as it ranked sixth on the list of popular locations for rental activity. Despite being known as NYC’s most affordable borough, The Bronx still drew high demand with a 20% drop in available apartments compared to last October. Listings from this area received twice the amount of traffic than previous years and renters saved an impressive 17% more searches than before.
Overall,the Northeast region has seen increased interest from renters with Queens rising as its top choice for rentals while The Bronx continues to be among its most desirable destinations.
