Cedar Fair, the parent company of Carowinds and Schlitterbahn amusement parks, has recently announced a merger with Six Flags Entertainment. The new headquarters will be located in Charlotte.
The newly combined organization will operate under the well-known Six Flags brand and ticker symbol “FUN”. Season pass holders can expect expanded park access and an enhanced loyalty program with added perks.
With an enterprise value of $8 billion based on existing debt and equity values, the new Six Flags boasts a portfolio that includes 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks, and nine resort properties across 17 states in North America.
Carowinds is one of Charlotte’s top tourist destinations spanning approximately 400 acres along the border between North Carolina and South Carolina. It attracts around two million visitors annually to its popular attractions such as Carolina Harbor Waterpark.
