Baltimore Uplands Master Plan Phase II Breaks Ground

Pennrose, KMJ Uplands LLC, B&W Solutions and the Uplands Community Association have broken ground on the second phase of a major redevelopment project in Baltimore. Located at a prominent gateway to the city along Edmondson Ave, this 63-acre site is being transformed from a distressed housing complex into an inviting and walkable community.

The $53.1 million Phase II will add 150 affordable and workforce apartments as well as comprehensive infrastructure upgrades to support future homeownership opportunities. Additionally, there is also an accompanying $28.6 million infrastructure project that includes new utilities, sidewalks and roads for improved access throughout the neighborhood when completed in its entirety with all 719 for-sale or rental homes across 63 acres plus over 10k square feet of retail space – this ambitious development will total $237 million dollars invested into Baltimore’s revitalization efforts!
“Uplands has been given an incredible opportunity to shape an entire neighborhood,” said Patrick Stewart Regional Vice President at Pennrose “We are looking forward to providing thoughtfully designed affordable housing options along with amenities that can be enjoyed by everyone.”
