"Costco CEO Craig Jelinek to Step Down: A Major Change in Leadership"

Costco Wholesale Corporation’s CEO, Craig Jelinek, will be stepping down on January 1, 2024. In his place, Ron Vachris has been elected as the next Chief Executive Officer of the retail giant. Vachris has been with Costco since February 2022 and currently holds the position of President and Chief Operating Officer.

Jelinek will continue to serve in an advisory role until April 2024 and remain on the company’s board of directors. According to Jelinek, Costco has a strong culture and talented management team which gives him confidence in Vachris’ ability to succeed him.

During his tenure as CEO for over a decade at Costco’s discount club division,Vachris worked his way up from being a forklift driver to holding various positions such as overseeing business operations and merchandising activities. With warehouses operating globally (861 total) including over half located within United States borders (591), it is clear thatVachris is well-equipped to lead this successful corporation into its future endeavors.
