Quannah Partners LLC is one of the many companies vying to take advantage of the $17 billion Samsung chip plant currently under construction in Taylor. The company has plans to develop a 69-acre industrial park near the plant.
On their latest agenda, Quannah Partners LLC presented their proposal for Park79 Commerce Center to the town council. They are seeking approval for a public improvement district (PID) that would help fund approximately $10 million in infrastructure improvements for the site, which is located along U.S. Highway 79. The Council has voted to accept this petition and has scheduled a public hearing on it next month.
The proposed Park79 Commerce Center will consist of three buildings totaling around 357,000 square feet with an estimated value of $75.4 million once fully built out.
According to reports from Austin Business Journal, Samsung’s massive facility spanning over six million square feet and situated on a 1,200-acre site near County Roads 401 and 404 is expected to open next year.
This development news comes as no surprise given that Samsung’s new factory location continues its rapid growth trajectory towards becoming one of Texas’ most sought-after business hubs.
