Kaiser Permanente Reaches Agreement with Striking Unions

Kaiser Permanente has reached a tentative agreement with the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions, following the largest walkout in U.S. healthcare history. The deal is expected to be ratified on October 18.

According to a statement from the Oakland-based healthcare system, this new four-year agreement will provide competitive wages and excellent benefits for employees represented by the Coalition. It also includes generous retirement plans and valuable job training opportunities that support their economic well-being while advancing our shared mission of providing quality care. This reaffirms Kaiser Permanente’s commitment as a top employer in both work environment and patient care.

In response to grievances regarding pay and short staffing, approximately 75,000 union workers nationwide staged a 72-hour strike from October 4-7. They had threatened another strike in November if an agreement was not reached this month.

This latest development marks an important milestone for both parties involved as they continue working towards mutual goals without further disruptions or delays.
