Skender, a leading general contractor, has recently completed the construction of Ace Hardware Corporation’s new headquarters. Located at 2915 Jorie Boulevard in Oak Brook, this project involved transforming the main building on the former McDonald’s corporate campus into a modern and amenity-filled workplace for the hardware retailer.
The project team for Ace Hardware included Skender as the general contractor, CBRE Design Collective as the architect and ESD (now Stantec Consulting Services) as engineer. According to Tom Walsh, Project Manager at Skender: “We have worked closely with Ace throughout all phases of this project – from pre-construction to design and finally completion.” The team was able to witness firsthand how excited Ace was with each milestone achieved during construction.
Designed by Dirk Lohan in 1988, this campus spans over 80 acres and previously housed Hamburger University – a training facility spanning over 130,000 square feet. However in 2019 McDonald’s moved its headquarters to downtown Chicago.
This recent accomplishment marks another successful project for Skender who continues to deliver exceptional results within their industry.
