Miami Beach City Commission Approves New Beachfront Hospitality Operation
The Miami Beach City Commission has approved a resolution with a narrow 4-3 vote to switch out concessionaires for a beachfront hospitality operation. The Boucher Brothers have been awarded the 10-year contract, replacing the Penrod family who previously operated Nikki Beach.
As part of their bid, the Boucher Brothers team plans to invest $26.23 million in building an oceanfront hospitality complex designed by renowned Miami-based architect Kobi Karp. This complex will feature Sadelle’s Boardwalk Cafe from New York-based Major Food Group, as well as an outdoor Mediterranean restaurant on the first floor and a Japanese steakhouse on the second floor. Other amenities include a children’s center managed by Itavi based in Coconut Grove, wellness spa facilities, pool access and beach concessions.
In exchange for control of this property, the Boucher team will pay 10% of their gross operations revenue or at least $4 million annually to the city. They have also committed to funding a police sub-station on site and offering discounts for residents along with hosting community events and providing education grants and food donations through various programs.
