Nebraska Furniture Mart is set to open a massive 1.2 million square foot store in Cedar Park, Texas. The store will include a 250-room hotel, a city-owned convention center spanning 30,000 square feet, and an additional 250,000 square feet of retail space.
According to the Austin Business Journal’s report on the project, NFM plans to hire over 700 employees for this location including managers, interior designers,
sales professionals,
customer service specialists and warehouse personnel. Construction is expected to begin in early
2024 with an anticipated opening date of late
2026.
This will be NFM’s fifth location at its impressive age of eighty-five years old.
Owned by Warren Buffett,
the furniture company prides itself as being “a one-stop shop for all home needs” offering furniture,
flooring appliances and electronics along with services such as interior design assistance delivery and installation.
The announcement of Nebraska Furniture Mart’s new Texas-sized store has created quite the buzz within the community.
