"Austin Approves Redevelopment Plans for Brodie Oaks"

Barshop & Oles, a renowned developer, has received final approval from the Austin City Council for their ambitious $1 billion redevelopment project at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center. After years of discussions between the developer, local residents and city officials, plans have been finalized to revamp this decades-old strip mall into a modern space featuring retail outlets, housing options and a park.

The proposed redevelopment will encompass:

– 1.26 million square feet of office space
– 140,000 square feet of retail space
– 1,700 residential units
– 13.7 acres of outdoor green space
– A luxurious hotel with 200 rooms

Construction for the first phase is slated to commence in 2025 and is expected to be completed by late 2027. As construction begins on this massive project,
existing businesses within the shopping center will need to relocate.

This major development has been approved by Austin’s City Council and marks an exciting new chapter for Brodie Oaks Shopping Center as it transforms into a vibrant hub that caters to various needs while also incorporating ample green spaces for its community members.
