Barshop & Oles, a prominent developer, has received final approval from the Austin City Council for a $1 billion redevelopment project at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center in Austin. After years of discussions between the developer, local residents and city officials, plans have been finalized to transform this aging strip mall into a vibrant mixed-use space featuring retail options, housing units and an expansive park.

The ambitious redevelopment will encompass:

– 1.26 million square feet of modern office space
– 140,000 square feet of diverse retail offerings
– 1,700 residential units catering to various lifestyles
– A sprawling green area spanning over 13 acres
– A luxurious hotel with approximately 200 rooms

Construction on the first phase is slated to commence in 2025 and is expected to be completed by late 2027. As part of this transformational project’s execution plan , existing businesses within the shopping center will need to relocate temporarily during construction.
This major development marks another milestone for Austin as it continues its rapid growth trajectory towards becoming one of America’s most dynamic cities.
