Plans for revitalizing two aging shopping centers in the South Coast Metro area of Santa Ana have been announced, according to a report by the Orange County Register. These plans include introducing new residential options and could potentially add over 5,000 units to the area.
One of these proposals is Related Bristol by Related California, which would consist of two blocks with up to 3,750 residential units as well as a hotel and senior living tower. It also includes space for restaurants and shops totaling up to 350,000 square feet. If approved, construction on this project could begin in 2026.
The Segerstrom family – known for creating South Coast Plaza – has also revealed their own proposal called The Village Santa Ana. This development would feature more than 1,500 residential units along with office and retail space.
Steven Oh from Related California stated that these projects are not competing but rather complementing each other. He also mentioned that there has been good communication between both parties during their respective processes.
