“7th Ave Penn Station Entrance Now Open”

"7th Ave Penn Station Entrance Now Open"

Amtrak and Vornado Realty Trust have unveiled the newly redesigned 7th Avenue entrance at New York Penn Station, with the goal of enhancing accessibility and improving the overall visitor experience. The renovated space boasts wider sidewalks, additional escalators, and a glass canopy that allows natural light to flow into the station’s concourse.

According to Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner, “We are delighted to introduce our new modern entrance for the 600,000 daily visitors at New York Penn Station. With a direct and accessible entryway at 32nd Street and 7th Avenue, all passengers can now easily enter or exit using an elevator or one of three escalators.”

The revamped entrance includes an ADA-compliant elevator as well as more escalators for increased convenience. The sidewalks have also been expanded to accommodate larger crowds. Designed by renowned architect Lord Norman Foster’s firm Foster + Partners, the luminous glass canopy serves not only as an aesthetic feature but also improves connectivity between street-level access points.

This recent development marks another step towards enhancing transportation infrastructure in New York City without mentioning any specific organizations involved in this project.
