Marquette Cos. and Origin Investments have submitted a proposal to the Nashville planning agency for a mixed-use development at 1000 Hawkins St., which was previously home to a Beaman car dealership.

The proposed North Edgehill Commons will consist of five buildings, including two eight-story structures and three five-story structures. The project aims to provide over 700 residential units, ranging from studios to one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as 26 townhomes. Additionally, there will be approximately 35,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

Leading the engineering efforts is Nashville-based Thomas & Hutton while Atlanta-based Dynamik Design is responsible for the architectural plans.

According to reports from the Nashville Business Journal , Marquette Cos. acquired the site in early 2021 for $42.32 million. On July 25th, they will present their joint venture project with Origin Investments before seeking approval from Metro Planning Department officials.
