As Samsung’s $19 billion chip plant nears completion, developers are taking advantage of the opportunity to provide housing for incoming residents. The city of Taylor’s Planning and Zoning Commission recently recommended two projects for rezoning which would add a total of 446 units between them. The town council is expected to give final approval in an upcoming meeting.
The first project, Gateway, could include 347 residential units across townhomes, apartments and live-work residences as well as 76,300 square feet of retail space and 300 rooms spread across two hotels. Legacy Crossing is the second project; it will be a 15-acre planned development with 109 attached/detached single family homes and multi-family residential dwellings.
These developments offer an exciting chance for growth in Taylor as they pave way for new dwelling/hotel units that can accommodate its growing population near Austin!
