**$400M Castle Rock “Brickyard” Development Takes Shape**
A developer’s ambitious vision is transforming a once-dilapidated brickyard into a vibrant mixed-use community hub in Castle Rock, Colorado. The site, formerly home to a brick manufacturing plant owned by Texas-based Acme Brick Co., shuttered in 2019, leaving behind a 31-acre lot and approximately 3 million bricks.
Confluence Companies acquired the site for $7 million and repurposed much of the existing material—using bricks in other construction projects and crushing the rest to build access roads for the redevelopment. The project, now known as The Brickyard, promises to reshape the landscape of Castle Rock.
When completed, The Brickyard will feature 336,000 square feet of commercial space. This includes:
– A 145,000-square-foot recreational center
– A 99,000-square-foot hotel with 125 rooms and a conference center
– 34,000 square feet dedicated to restaurant use
– 58,000 square feet of office space
In addition to the commercial offerings, the development will include approximately 300 apartment units and 160 for-sale condominiums, creating a truly mixed-use environment.
Confluence Companies has already invested $200 million in prior projects in the area, and with The Brickyard’s $400 million investment, the firm’s total commitment to Castle Rock doubles—reinforcing the town’s growing reputation as a destination for innovative community planning and sustainable urban redevelopment.
