**$400 Million Castle Rock “Brickyard” Project Taking Shape**
A bold redevelopment vision is transforming a former brickyard in Castle Rock, Colorado, into a dynamic, mixed-use community hub. The site, once home to a facility owned by Texas-based Acme Brick Co., was shuttered in 2019. At the time of closure, the brickyard spanned 31 acres and held approximately 3 million bricks.
Confluence Companies acquired the property for $7 million and has since strategically repurposed many of the original bricks for use in other developments. The remaining bricks were crushed and used for constructing onsite roadways. This adaptive reuse exemplifies the project’s innovative approach and commitment to sustainable development.
The ambitious transformation, now called “The Brickyard,” will feature 336,000 square feet of commercial space. This includes a 145,000-square-foot recreation center, a 99,000-square-foot hotel with 125 rooms and a conference facility, 34,000 square feet of restaurant space, and 58,000 square feet of office space.
In addition to the commercial offerings, the project will deliver significant residential components, including approximately 300 apartment units and 160 for-sale condominiums.
Confluence Companies, which has already invested $200 million in Castle Rock developments, is committing another $400 million to bring The Brickyard to life—effectively doubling its local investment portfolio.
This major undertaking is expected to significantly reshape Castle Rock’s landscape, establishing the former industrial site as a thriving, multi-purpose community destination.
