"4 Power Plants Considered for Permian Basin Location"

Living in West Texas requires a strong source of energy to generate power. The State of Texas is currently considering granting four electric facilities to the Midland/Odessa area.

To support the development, maintenance, modernization, and operation of electric facilities within the state, the Powering Texas Forward Act was established by the Texas Legislature. Through this act, a fund has been created to provide grants and loans. Recently, 72 program applications were reviewed by Public Utility Commission (PUC), which oversees this fund. Out of these applications totaling $24 billion in funding requests, only 17 were selected as potential recipients for low-interest loans amounting to $5.38 billion.
