JBG SMITH has submitted development plans to Arlington County for Block W in National Landing, aiming to create approximately 370 new apartment units and street-level retail. The site, located on Crystal Drive, will see the construction of a seven-story mixed-use residential building that will also preserve over 35,000 square feet of open space and include amenities such as bike parking and electric vehicle charging stations.
Matt Ginivan, senior vice president of development at JBG SMITH stated: “As we continue developing National Landing with an eye towards adding new housing and neighborhood serving retail opportunities this underutilized vehicular area is being transformed into apartments with pedestrian oriented ground floor retail further connecting the neighborhood.” In addition to this project JBG SMITH’s placemaking efforts are focused on creating vibrant community spaces including upcoming projects Surreal at Dining in the Park and Water Park.
