JT Magen and Gensler have successfully completed the fit-out of a 180,000-square-foot office space for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s 3 World Trade Center. The law firm relocated from their previous location at 601 Lexington Ave to Lower Manhattan.
As construction manager, JT Magen was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project including budgeting, scheduling, logistics, procurement of materials and management of subcontractors until final handover. Gensler served as the interior designer for this project.
According to Jay Rimatzki, senior project manager at JT Magen who oversaw construction management: “In recent years we have seen a trend among law firms towards more open layouts and amenity areas. The next generation legal offices are moving away from traditional private offices with leather chairs and heavy wood accents.”
