Baltimore’s Waterfront Undergoes $3 Billion Transformation
The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) has announced that over $3 billion has been invested in redeveloping the city’s historic waterfront through a series of transformative mixed-use projects.
Spanning 231.5 acres, the waterfront revitalization is being spearheaded by a coalition that includes Beatty Development Group, MAG Partners, MCB Real Estate, and the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.
Beatty Development Group is leading a $1 billion redevelopment of a 27-acre former industrial site, transforming it into a master-planned, mixed-use community designed to reignite growth and connectivity along the waterfront.
The Baltimore Peninsula project, developed by MAG Partners, covers 177 acres and represents a $1.1 billion investment. It is expected to deliver 14 million square feet of mixed-use space, including the new global headquarters for Under Armour and a satellite campus for the University of Maryland’s business school.
Meanwhile, Rash Field Park is undergoing a $34.8 million redevelopment, enhancing public access and amenities to better serve residents and visitors.
MCB Real Estate is leading the $900 million reimagining of Harborplace, a 20-acre waterfront retail center. The revitalized destination will include four new buildings, 900 residential units, office space, retail offerings, parks, and a 2,000-seat amphitheater—adding vibrancy and new opportunities to the Inner Harbor area.
Together, these projects represent a historic and transformative investment in the future of Baltimore’s iconic waterfront.
