2nd Swing Golf is expanding its presence at 8909 McGaw Court in Columbia, Maryland, building on a seven-year run as the retailer’s only Maryland-area location. The company has committed to additional space in the same building, extending a footprint originally established in Howard County to serve golfers across the region.
The retailer has signed a lease for an extra 8,802 square feet with Buligo Capital Partners, increasing the store’s size by about 60 percent. Following this expansion, the 2nd Swing Golf store will total 23,351 square feet within the property. The transaction reflects a notable growth step for the tenant, which is using the additional area to scale its operations at the site.
Representation for the landlord in the lease was handled by Lee & Associates | Maryland. The brokerage team consisted of Kate Jordan, SIOR, Principal; Marley Black, SIOR, Principal; and Samantha Eckels, Senior Associate. Their role centered on negotiating terms for the property owner and securing the expanded commitment from 2nd Swing Golf.
The store is targeting operational status for the enlarged space by the end of October. As part of the growth, 2nd Swing Golf plans to add 10 new employees at the Columbia location, bringing total staff to approximately 55. The increase in headcount is designed to support a larger customer footprint and expanded in-store services.
2nd Swing Golf currently operates seven locations across five states, positioning the Columbia store as a key part of its national platform. The retailer’s model includes trade-in services for golf clubs produced by major manufacturers, including PING, Titleist, TaylorMade, and Callaway. These services are a core component of the retailer’s offering and are available at the Columbia location.
The property at 8909 McGaw Court is a single-story building with more than 140,000 square feet of combined industrial and retail space. It houses multiple tenants, with the 2nd Swing Golf store occupying a growing share of the building’s retail component. Other occupants include the Habitat for Humanity Columbia ReStore, adding a mix of users to the asset’s tenancy profile.
This latest lease expansion reinforces the role of 8909 McGaw Court as a multitenant destination for both retail and industrial users in Columbia. For the landlord, securing 2nd Swing Golf’s larger footprint adds to the property’s stability and extends the retailer’s long-term alignment with the asset.
