Weston Urban has begun construction on a 16-story, 290-unit apartment building in San Antonio. The project is the result of a partnership between Weston Urban and Bexar County’s public facilities corporation. Under the terms of their 75-year ground lease agreement, Weston Urban must provide at least 116 apartments at 80% area median income or lower.
The development will also include 22,000 square feet of retail and office space situated between the vacant Continental Hotel and Arana buildings. Additionally, Weston Urban plans to renovate both structures for street level retail (Continental Hotel) as well as 28 residential units (Arana). Lastly, they will restore an 19th century Spanish colonial home – De La Garza House – which upon completion will be turned over to Bexar County’s possession.
