"27th Annual NAIOP SoCal Real Estate Challenge Makes a Comeback"

The annual real estate challenge hosted by NAIOP SoCal is back on November 21st. This year, a team of five graduate students from UCLA’s Ziman Center of Real Estate will compete against a team from USC’s Lusk Center and Price School of Public Policy.

The competition will focus on determining the best use for a unique parcel of land in Southern California. This marks the 27th year that these two universities have gone head-to-head, with UCLA currently leading with 14 wins to USC’s 12. The event takes place just days before the highly anticipated football game between USC and UCLA.

This year, the teams will be tasked with developing plans for a 9.27-acre parcel within El Segundo’s Raytheon Campus redevelopment project. According to Greg Brown, chairperson for NAIOP SoCal UCLA vs. USC Real Estate Challenge and co-head at JLL Capital Markets’ Orange County office, this presents an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their creativity as they come up with feasible uses for this site in El Segundo.

Stay tuned as we await another thrilling competition between these two prestigious universities!
