**22nd DAA Seeks Public Input on Long-Term Plan for Del Mar Fairgrounds**
The 22nd District Agricultural Association (DAA), which oversees the Del Mar Fairgrounds along with two neighboring properties, has launched a comprehensive public outreach campaign aimed at shaping the future of these key community assets. Functioning as a state institution, the 22nd DAA is inviting feedback from local governments and residents throughout San Diego County.
The campaign, titled “Fairgrounds 2050,” is a master planning initiative designed to determine the most practical and beneficial uses for all three properties under the 22nd DAA’s management. In addition to the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the plan also considers the Surf and Turf Recreation Center and the Del Mar Horsepark. Combined, these areas encompass 324 acres of public land.
To ensure robust public involvement, the effort will include a statistically significant survey that measures county residents’ opinions on current and potential uses of the Fairgrounds. The DAA will also establish a technical council comprised of subject matter experts, who will provide input on the planning process and potential improvements to the sites.
The outreach initiative reflects the association’s commitment to aligning future developments with the needs and preferences of the surrounding community.
