2022 CRE Construction Crown Awarded to Houston

Texas has been a leader in real estate construction projects over the past decade, with five cities finishing in the top five. According to a StorageCafe survey, Houston topped the list for homebuilding, apartments, self storage, industrial and office since 2013. San Antonio, Austin, Ft. Worth and Dallas followed suit respectively.

Houston registered around 55600 units of single family homes being permitted from 2013 to 2022 – 90 thousand new apartments were issued during this same timeframe as well. The city also saw 5 point 7 million square feet of storage space added to its inventory over ten years; it ranks first nationally for industrial construction (66 million square feet) and second for office space (27 million).

The Lone Star State’s capital is certainly making an impression on CRE development across America!
