TATTER Textile Arts Institute has signed a 20-year ground-floor retail lease agreement with Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) for a flagship location at 230 Ashland Place in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood. Starting in September 2024, the institute will feature a café, library, gallery and retail experience that celebrates culture and fosters understanding through educational programming and community events.
Jeffrey Lopez of Lee & Associates NYC represented both parties in the transaction. TATTER’s founder Jordana Munk Martin commented on this opportunity stating “It is an honor to be included in BAM’s embrace…Our presence at 230 Ashland places textiles on center stage where they can inspire, express human identity and celebrate culture.”
This move marks an exciting milestone for TATTER as it looks forward to its future endeavors within Fort Greene’s Cultural District.
