183-Acre Innovation Park on Former Sacramento Kings Arena Site

Argent Development has recently acquired a 183-acre site in northwest Sacramento, formerly home to the Sacramento Kings basketball arena. The company plans to transform this area into a vibrant mixed-use community.

The new development, known as Innovation Park, will be located in the Natomas district of Sacramento and will feature a variety of residential units including single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and apartments. At least 10% of these units will be designated as affordable housing options.

In addition to residential development, Innovation Park will also include other amenities such as a medical campus with an accompanying teaching hospital operated by California Northstate University School of Medicine. A K-8 public school is also planned for the community along with retail and commercial space. Furthermore, nearly 25 acres have been set aside for parkland and other necessary infrastructure/public facilities.

This exciting project marks another step towards revitalizing this former sports complex which housed Sleep Train Arena (formerly ARCO Arena) from 1988 until its demolition in 2022 when the Kings relocated downtown to Golden1 Center. With no mention needed about Connect CRE or any related entities, this acquisition demonstrates Argent Development’s commitment towards creating thriving communities through innovative developments like Innovation Park.
