“The filename directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect”

The folder redirection share does exist!

You can’t use DFS paths – you need UNC paths e.g \\server\datafolder not \\domain.local\datafolder .

I have a 2007 Honda Civic LX with the 1.8L engine and automatic transmission. I recently had to replace my starter, which was done by an independent mechanic (not at a dealership). When I got the car back, it started fine but when I put it into drive, the engine would rev up to about 2k RPM and then drop down to about 1.5k RPM. The car was also very sluggish when I accelerated from a stop.

I took it back to the mechanic and he said that he had disconnected my battery while doing the work (which is true) and that I needed to “reprogram” my computer by driving around for a while so that it could relearn how I drove or something like that.

I did this but after several days of driving, nothing changed – still sluggish acceleration from stops with high idle speed in park/neutral/drive. So, today I decided to try resetting my ECU myself by disconnecting both terminals on the battery for ~10 minutes before reconnecting them again.

After doing this procedure, everything seems normal now – no more high idle speed in park/neutral/drive and no more sluggishness when accelerating from stops! My question is: Did resetting/rebooting/relearning whatever you want call what happened actually do anything? Or did just unplugging/plugging back in all of those connectors under hood fix some kind of loose connection?

It’s possible there was an issue with one or more connections which got resolved during your reset process (or maybe even during your mechanic’s initial repair). It’s also possible there were some learned values stored which got cleared out as part of your reset process; if they were incorrect somehow then clearing them might have helped too.

@R.. Good point! That makes sense…it would be nice if Honda provided details on exactly what gets wiped/reset/etc whenever you disconnect power sources though…

As @R stated above its quite likely either one thing or another caused this situation:

A poor connection somewhere causing issues until fixed at first start-up,

Or the ECU had learned something that was incorrect and needed to be reset.

I would guess it’s more likely the former than the latter.

4) Sort out David de Gea contract situation: The Spaniard was one of few bright spots last season and if United want him to stay beyond 2016 then they must offer him an improved deal or else Real Madrid might come calling again next summer when Iker Casillas’ contract expires!

5) Get rid of deadwood: Nani, Ashley Young, Wilfried Zaha & Javier Hernandez have no future under Van Gaal so it would be better if they were sold rather than keeping them on bench throughout this season like Moyes did with Shinji Kagawa last year!
