Market Square Cos. and Tenon Property Co. have announced plans to revitalize a former Schlumberger campus in Houston, turning it into a vibrant mixed-use development known as Ashford Yard. The project will encompass 12 acres at the intersection of South Dairy Ashford Road and Briar Forest Drive, featuring 90,000 square feet of retail space, restaurants, entertainment venues, office buildings and 350 apartments.
The two companies have joined forces to create this new district which is set to become a hub for commercial activity in the area. Currently on the site are two vacant buildings totaling over 167,000 square feet that were previously occupied by Schlumberger Ltd., but were left empty due to the Covid pandemic. Market Square and Tenon acquired both properties along with an adjacent shopping center earlier this year.
According to reports from the Houston Business Journal , construction on the $25 million retail portion is expected to begin in late next year with completion projected for mid-2026. Nelsen Partners , an Austin-based architecture firm has been selected as lead designer for this ambitious project while no contractor has yet been chosen.
This redevelopment effort will breathe new life into what was once an industrial site by transforming it into a dynamic destination that offers something for everyone – from shopping and dining options to workspaces and residential units – making it an exciting addition to Houston’s ever-evolving landscape.
