"1.1M SF Healthcare Project to be Added to Converted Tampa Mall"

RD Management is transforming the former University Mall into a hub for healthcare, science, and technology companies. According to Commercial Edge, RD has selected JLL’s Central Florida Healthcare Practice Group to lease the health-care, life science and office components of their 100-acre mixed-use development in Tampa’s Uptown District known as RITHM.

Upon completion, RITHM (short for Research, Innovation Technology Humanity & Medicine) will span over 7 million square feet and include thousands of residential units. The project already boasts completed developments such as multifamily housing and a Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store that opened in August 2023.

Construction on an extended-stay Marriott hotel is set to begin this year along the newly built University Square Drive extension which connects RITHM to the nearby USF campus.
